Traveling with Disabilities with Winn Charles of Ask Winn

Whether you have Cerebral Palsy, Celiac disease, or any other disability, find out how Winn Charles navigates the world of travel through flying, cruising and road trips with her wheelchair and walker in tow. No matter if she is going across town or to another country, Winn doesn’t let her physical disabilities get in the way of travel or living her life!

Winn is the author of five books, including her most recent book I, Winn. In addition to being an author, Winn also produces two podcasts and is the only person with CP producing an active podcast! Check her out at Ask Winn where she interviews guests from podcasting to those who are overcoming their own physical challenges and disabilities.

About Winn

“The reason why I became an artist is to have an outlet in my life. In 2006 my life got out of control” She had undergone a grueling six-hour back operation that left her physically and emotionally drained. Before her surgery, she was walking under my own power. Post-surgery she experienced the hardest recovery of her life, as her surgery changed her life forever.

While in PT for her surgery, her physical therapist said, "Win, you're getting angry and depressed from all this. You need to see a counselor to help".  On the way home, she thought that seeing a counselor was nuts. “That same day I looked online for a painting program and found one that I fell in love with and still use today. It took a lot of time for me to achieve where I am today as an artist.”
